Urban Agriculture Workshop: Building Soil From Scratch

Urban growers are invited to join ACCD and Greater Valley's Urban Farmer Fitzhugh Shaw to discuss building soil from scratch in an urban setting.
Community members are invited to bring soil samples from their home gardens to ACCD's pop-up event in partnership with Grow Pittsburgh to be screened for lead on-site, receive results same day, and connect with experts to learn about soil health and contaminants.
ACCD completes on-the-ground work to protect soil and water. These efforts deliver critical environmental and community benefits, such as dedicated future farmland, safer low-volume roads, increased fish habitat and more.
