Get your soil screened for lead for free by the Allegheny County Conservation District. Contaminants are common in urban soil and can be hazardous to health when ingested or inhaled during gardening or outdoor activities. Soil screening is the first step to reduce your risk of exposure!
Bring a soil sample to this year’s Pittsburgh County Fair on September 15, 2024, at Allegheny Commons Park West (W Ohio St, Pittsburgh, PA 15212). No registration is required for this pop-up event, but residents wishing to have their soil screened for lead must correctly collect, prepare and label their soil sample according to instructions below.
